This special Darjeeling Green Tea is expertly harvested during the spring season from the high elevations of the Gopaldhara Tea Estate, which reaches up to 7,000 feet. The tea is made from high quality green tea clones that are specifically cultivated to have a lower tannin content compared to the usual Darjeeling tea clones. As a result, it is free from the bitterness commonly found in many other Darjeeling teas.
This Darjeeling Green Tea is processed to a broken leaf standard, resulting in a bright, greenish-yellow liquor when brewed. The flavour profile is incredibly smooth and mellow, with a subtle sweetness and mild astringency. It delivers a pleasantly refreshing and clean aftertaste that lingers, offering a delightful finish with fresh aroma of high mountain.
Use fresh, filtered water. Heat to 85–90°C — just below boiling.
Use 1 tsp (2–3 g) per 200 ml of water. Adjust to taste.
Pour water over leaves and steep for 2–3 minutes.
Strain into a warmed cup. Best enjoyed without milk.
